Can You Stop Snoring With A Snoring Mouth Guard

by Julian MacDowell

Is it really possible that some form of anti snoring mouth guard can really help a snorer? And what is the best stop snoring device?

Well, the answer to the first question is a definite yes. The devices commonly known as dental devices are indeed a great product that has assisted many snorers over the years. These devices are extremely useful for those that suffer from mild sleep apnea. By preventing the soft throat tissues from collapsing as you sleep, the device reduces the snoring and apnea episodes. The blocking of the airway and vibrating tissues is what can cause a snore to occur.

You will often hear these dental devices referred to as a mandibular advancement device, and they work by keeping the airway clear and/or lifting the soft palate to prevent obstruction. These great devices keep the throat clear of blockage, and you stop snoring. Considering the low unit cost, these devices are really effective in reducing snoring.

Before we go on, I must tell you that there are two ways you can get an anti snoring mouth guard fitted. One way, and more expensive, is to get a specialist dentist to construct and fit a tailor made dental device for you. Many people are happy to spend out a few hundred bucks on this service, to get a bespoke mouth guard made. But for many, a snore guard that can be bought cheaply and easily from the internet will be just fine.

If you go for the dentist option, they'll make a mold of the structure of your mouth and manufacture a one off snoring mouth guard for you. If you think this is the option for you, check out your local dental specialists.
